Manpower -- Over The Weekend
After
doing my research for job listings on the Manpower.us site, I wasn’t very
surprised at my findings. I firstly did a search of the Madison area and there
were eleven jobs available for viewing. Most of them involved temporary jobs,
which included warehouse positions, assembly lines, service positions, and
administrative positions. I found it a positive thing that there was a variety
of different positions because someone looking for jobs can have a diversified
list of opportunities and get decent usage out of this site. A lot of them listed also advertised them as
temporary to help pay off bills around the holidays, which I think a lot of
people would be interested in. I had to research a town next to my hometown
because my hometown wasn’t listed. In Stoughton there were three positions
available, involving general labor/line work, and one as an Engineering Change
Specialist. Other than the engineering position, the jobs mostly only required
good work ethic and superb attendance. The engineering position required a lot
more responsibilities and experience such as project management experience and
certification. I lastly scouted out the jobs in Chicago because that is a place
that I’m interested living in one day. Undoubtedly, Chicago had the most jobs
listed at 37 positions. The Chicago search had much more offers, but they were
the same types of jobs as those in Madison with a lot more administrative assistant
positions. They were mostly advertised as temporary positions rather than
permanent jobs again, yet I did notice the experience levels were demanded to
be a little higher. In general, I found it pretty interesting that the site
advertises the concept of finding a career and permanent employment, but a lot
of the actual positions listed were temporary and had hourly wages. In general,
I think this site is useful in helping someone find a temporary job to, as
said, help pay bills around the holidays or other circumstances, but I wouldn’t
refer to this site to help me find my career job.
